Chernobyl Communication

During this Project I looked closely into using models and the 3d form to communicate an idea in museum, education, and fine art. I chose to illustrate the destruction caused to the communities surrounding Chernobyl following the catastrophes of Reactor four in 1986. I used water based clay in an experimental way to create a 1:1 disfigured child form that resembled the deterioration of the people. A cleverly finished toy mirroring the famous Chernobyl Ferris wheel was constructed from laser cut perspex and gave the strong link needed for the audience to relate to and understand the piece.
